Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
Four things, one person
Web design, copywriting, marketing, and podcast production. Most clients start with one and add others as their site grows. The advantage of hiring one person for all four is that nothing gets lost in the handoff, because there isn’t one.
Who do you work with?
Authors, businesses, and campaigns
I specialize in authors, publishers, and creative entrepreneurs. Beyond that: B2B platforms, ecommerce shops, political campaigns, professional service providers, and small to medium businesses that need a site that actually works. The industries are different. The underlying problem rarely is.
How do I get started?
Free site audit, or a conversation
Request a free site audit if you already have a site and want to know where it stands. If you’re starting from scratch or need a full rebuild, book a free consultation instead and we’ll talk through what you actually need. Either way, the audit includes a full review of your SEO and GEO practices, so you’ll know whether your site is ready for AI-driven search.
What makes your web design process different?
Built for people and for machines
Most designers build for one search engine. I build for both kinds. A visitor wants clean visual hierarchy and a reason to stay. An AI tool wants clearly labeled, structured information it can lift and cite accurately. Those are different jobs, and getting the second one wrong means the AI either skips you or, worse, describes your business incorrectly.
Do you offer website maintenance after launch?
Yes, and I’d recommend it
Sites need security updates, plugin updates, uptime monitoring, and periodic speed checks. Skip that for a year and you find out why it mattered, usually at an inconvenient moment. Ongoing maintenance is available with every service, so you can run your business while the site takes care of itself.
What is included in the free site audit?
A clear look under the hood
Technical health first: crawl errors, 404s, SSL validity. Then load speed, measured against Core Web Vitals. Then user experience. Then your SEO and GEO practices, which is the part most audits skip entirely. You get a straight answer about what’s working and what isn’t.
What is GEO, and why does my website copy need it?
Because people stopped typing into search bars
Generative Engine Optimization means structuring your content so AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity can read it, understand it, and cite it when someone asks a relevant question. Those tools don’t rank pages the way Google does. They pull answers. If your copy isn’t built to be pulled from, you’re invisible in a growing share of searches.
Can you write in my brand voice?
That’s most of the job
Yes. Good copy balances sales strategy against how you actually sound, and getting that balance wrong in either direction costs you. Too much strategy and it reads like a template. Too much voice and nobody buys anything. I spend time on your vision, tone, and audience before I write a word.
What is included in your podcast production services?
Everything from concept to distribution
- Pre-production: strategy, show concept, episode scripting.
- Technical production: audio editing, video editing, custom sound design.
- Post-production and branding: distribution to major directories, promotional clips, complete branding packages.
I learned this work on my own show, The Writing Biz, where every mistake was mine to fix. I’ve co-produced two others since and I produce for several clients now.
Can you turn long episodes into short social clips?
Yes, and you should be doing it
Long-form video and audio gets sliced into short vertical clips built for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and social feeds. One episode becomes a week of content. It’s the highest-return thing most podcasters aren’t doing.
